New Executive Director The Board of Directors of the CTCA is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter J. Bryden as Executive Director . Mr. Bryden will be leading the CTCA in its endeavors to become the regional Centre of Expertise Dissemination for the Architectural, Engineering, Construction (AEC) Industry. The CTCA looks to bridge the gap between researchers and the AEC Industry in Atlantic Canada. Mr. Bryden and the CTCA will connect and communicate with industry participants in order to inform and educate on new technologies and innovative business practices. The CTCA will continue its concentration on the latest developments in construction engineering and management. Following graduation from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of New Brunswick, Mr. Bryden's career maintained a connection to the region as he has over a decade of experience working in the AEC Industry in all four provinces of Atlantic Canada. He has participated in various capacities including engineering consultant, researcher, project manager, construction manager and general contractor. Mr. Bryden is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of New Brunswick.
The CTCA is a non-profit organization with a mandate to transfer technology and broker innovation to the AEC Industry of Atlantic Canada. The CTCA assists industry to increase awareness and access to the latest technological advances in construction management, for both the office and the job site. The CTCA has long-standing relationships with regional and national research centres and funding agencies. These relationships have been valuable in successfully completing research and development projects for industry partners over the past 15 years. Atlantic Construction Journal Publication Beginning in May 2004 the Construction Technology Centre Atlantic will have a regular, feature article published in The Atlantic Construction Journal. This journal is published by Transcontinental Specialty Publications, a division of Transcontinental Media Inc., email acj@hfnews.ca. The Atlantic Construction Journal (ACJ) is the region's source for construction news and information. It is an established business-to-business newspaper with coverage of Atlantic Canada's premier construction industry events. This journal is distributed to more thatn 15,000 businesses including: The Globe & Mail (10,000 copies), Individual Subscribers, Contractors, Engineers, Architects, and Unions. ACJ is also distributed to Construction Related Association Members including CANS, CAPE, CANF, SJCA, FNWCA, MNECA, Roofing Contractors, Road Building Associations, Home Building Contractors, Atlantic Home Warranty, and the Atlantic Building Supply Dealers Association. Regular features of this journal include Residential Builders' Report, Landscaping, Equipment News Digest, CCA Updates, Construction Association News Update, Building Supply Dealers News, and Construction Updates.
